The Catharturgy Corpus · Neurological Qabalah

The Cingulate Axes

The cingulate is a ribbon of cortex arched over the corpus callosum. Two directions run through it. Front to back carries guilt and shame from their acute signal to their standing, ruminative form. Top to bottom carries guilt from the specific act to the overgeneralised verdict. The two routes meet toward Yesod.

Schematic medial surface of the brain The cingulate arches over the corpus callosum from the subgenual cingulate at the front, over the top, to the retrosplenial cortex at the back. Select a region to read about it.
LeftTop: the brain seen from above, as on a scan, front at the top and the left hemisphere on the left. The midline regions are drawn as if seen through the surface, and the higher a region sits on the medial wall, the farther from the midline it is drawn. RightBelow: the medial surface, front to the left. Schematic, not to scale. Compass: A anterior, P posterior, L left, R right, D dorsal, V ventral.
Scroll the medial surface sideways to see all of it.

Two directions and where they meet

Each direction carries a different distinction. The data are graded Found; their placement on the Tree is graded Constructed.
